Our chapter sustains an active advocacy role through meetings with local and national policy makers to advance AJC's agenda. Our objectives span issues of anti-Semitism, support for Israel and civil rights issues. The International Relations Committee meets with diplomats from, among others, the Japanese, Chinese, Indian, German, Egyptian, Italian, Korean, Turkish, Russian and Philippines consulates. Ambassadors from various countries regularly speak to our board, as do representatives of foreign governments, civic and academic institutions and overseas Jewish communities. The AJC is the only American Jewish organization with offices in Berlin, Geneva, Brussels, and Jerusalem and affiliates in Great Britain, France, Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. To learn more, or get involved, contact the International Relations Committee Chair Nathanial Schmelzer or call the office at (415) 777-3820. |
